Class Descriptions
Dance Together - ages 18 months- 3 years
Bond with your child through movement and creative play. Join us to improve coordination and social skills in classes that seamlessly blend teacher-directed activities with child-led explorations and discoveries. When ready, your child may take the class independently.
Joyful Movement - 2-3 years
The perfect class for tots who are beginning to explore independent learning. In a warm, light-hearted environment, your child will enjoy imaginative movement, songs, games, and stories that enhance their physical, mental, and social-emotional development.
Playful Dance - 3-4 years
Through active, imaginative dance play, your child will develop coordination, strength, and stability. In a creative, community-focused classroom, children become confident with ballet-based vocabulary and foundational movement patterns through music, games, and creative exploration.
Creative Ballet - 5-6 years
Starting with foundations learned in Playful Dance, your child will strengthen their confidence, control, musicality, and ability to collaborate. This class introduces children to the ballet barre, more challenging movement combinations, and choreography tools to develop their own movement style.
Dance Party - 6-9 years
Big kids will love getting their hearts racing in this active romp through dance and movement. Dance games & choreography challenges will accompany centering exercises and playful practice in dance technique to help them find focus and renew their creativity. Dance techniques introduced may include ballet, modern, jazz, improvisation, and more.
Formative Ballet - 7-9 years
With respect for the safety of their body, your child will build a foundational understanding of ballet alignment and strong technique. A combination of traditional ballet structures and creative investigation will cultivate your child’s sense of artistry, self-appreciation, and community.
Formative Modern- 7-9 years
Your child will be introduced to modern dance concepts and vocabulary as tools to access their own freedom of expression. In exercises that develop spatial awareness, musicality, and collaboration, your child will discover this technique based in natural human movement.

What to wear:
Dance Together, Joyful Movement, Playful Dance: Bare feet and comfortable clothing that’s easy to move in. Leggings and bare feet are perfect. Leotards, tights, and tutus are a lovely option, but not required. Shorts or leotards must be worn under dresses so that underwear is not visible. Since the floor can be slippery, please avoid sending your child in socks or footed tights. Hair should be pulled back and out of the dancer’s face- Ponytails, braids, and headbands do the trick.
Creative & Formative Ballet: Hair securely pulled back from face and off neck, ballet shoes, dance clothes such as comfortable tops, leggings, shorts, leotards, and skirts.
Formative Modern: Bare feet. Hair securely pulled back from face and off neck, dance clothes such as leotards, tights, leggings, dance skirts or shorts. Boys may wear dance pants, shorts, or leggings with a t-shirt.
